Don Slepian’s “Orchestral Memes” is an episodic video webcast series of Classical Electronica set to live VJ computer animation art. Musical impressions from classic to ragtime to jazz, visual riffs from organic to stellar, real to surreal, blend together to form Orchestral Memes.
Slepian is presenting the keyboard music synthesizer as a new performing instrument for the concert soloist in the classical genre. His instrument has more in common with a Pipe Organ than a Piano and ends up sounding like neither one. It is like watching someone improvise a movie soundtrack live on the spot with great expression, wide dynamics, and a variety of shifting moods.
Subscribing to the OM Channel opens up a wide vista of applied music technology to audiophiles, technology buffs, New Age Music fans, electronica aficionados, and contemporary music students.
